Registering

Eligability
Participation in the Junior Judges' Project is by invitation only and is limited to Australian educational institutions.

You must first Register and create a 'Class' which is essentially your identity at the school. Following that, we'll send you a password by email. You can then log on using your email address and password in order to use restricted areas of the site and create Class Groups which can vote.

School Registration Code
Every school in our database has been assigned a unique Registration Code. This is how we initially identify your school.

The code was sent out in a letter to all schools at the beginning of April 2008.

Please keep this code confidential. It is unique to your school. It is very important that unsolicited persons do not gain access to the Junior Judges' Project registered user's areas.

If you haven't received the Registration Code, please contact us to request a code by email.

Go to the Registration page. Start by entering your school's Registration Code then click the 'Go' button. The system will automatically retrieve your school from the database.

If the registration process fails, it may be that you've incorrectly entered the code or your school is not in the database. If you continue to have problems then please contact us. Remember to tell us your school's full name, address and main telephone number.

You can download a PDF copy of the Registration Instructions

After Registering
After successfully registering, your password is then sent to your nominated email address with the subject line as "CBCA Junior Judges' Project: Registration". It is important that you've entered the address correctly.

Once you have received your password, you should log onto the system as soon as practical. Newly registered accounts which have never been logged onto will be deemed as inactive and may be deleted after 7 days.

Registration FAQ

Q. What if I enter an incorrect email address by mistake?
A. You will not receive your password. Instead, you should start the registration process again making sure that your email address is correct. The system will not allow more than one account to have the same email address, and will let you know if you try registering again with the same, incorrect address.

Q. I need to register a second Class at a different School?
A. You can do this using the second school's Registration Code and the same email address. You will be issued with another Log In password.

Q. Why can't I use the same email to create a second Class for the School?
A. The email address is used as a Username. It identifies you as a registered user. We can not have two or more Classes at the same school with the same email address having multiple passwords.

Q. I did not receive my password, even though I'm sure the email address was correct.
A. You should check to make sure the junk filtering on your email application is not inadvertently mistaking your Welcome Email as junk.

We have seen that sometimes people leave the 'au' off the end of their email address, add an extra '.', and various other variations, so please check that you've entered your proper email address.

If required, use the Retrieve Lost Password process to have the password sent to you again. If your email address is not accepted by the Retrieve Lost Password page, it is likely that you registered with an incorrect email address. In this case, you need to register again.

Q. I teach more than one class. Do I need multiple accounts?
A. No. Once you have created your account, you may add additional Class Groups. Each class group will be eligible to vote.

Q. How are votes counted?
A. Each Class Group can vote. We ask yo record the number of students in a Class Group. Each counts as a vote although the voting preferences have been made by the Class Group.
